Two years in a row... No peaches to pick on your own! Boo! We just bought some boxes of peaches for us and our family and then got ice cream. The ice cream was delicious... But you're supposed to earn it! Maybe next year.

Discovery Place
We had not been to The Discovery Place museum since 2013, so it was our top choice to start our vacation out right.
The toddler splash zone was a winner for Isaac.
The IMAX was all about our planet Earth (as viewed from space) and was over the top awesome, except for the fact that Isaac was completely traumatized. He tucked himself into my chest and insisted I keep his ears covered tightly with my hands. Poor kid. He made it through quietly, thank goodness because I really enjoyed the experience!
We all love building with these little sticks!
And this pic is from Jock and Jill's... Isaac is showing us his pockets. :-)
Cracker Barrel
I love Cracker Barrel. It is my favorite family restaurant and there just happens to be one near our hotel... They've got rocking chairs, games, breakfast all day...
I ordered the enormous chicken fried steak with the 3 sides (3!)... I got my favorite comfort food with mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits... And Isaac got his favorites: sweet potatoes and broccoli! Win!
Note to self... If you order tea, it will be delivered sweet. I hate sweet tea. You have got to be specific!
Vacation Bound!
We travelled to Charlotte on July 12 for Cousin Camp and Nelli Beach. The kids are always excited to pack it up and go on vacation. And I can finally say, though there are a lot of us, it is so much easier travelling with older kids! They can all carry their own stuff and Isaac just goes with the herd. I don't even have to carry him because he *wants* to walk! Here's what we look like in the airport:
And I had fun taking pics of Mr. Smiley while we waited to board.
He really liked watching the luggage carts, the airplanes and all the hustle and bustle.

David's Painting Workshop
Our wonderful and dear friend Gaby, who has taught Emily's art class for years now, offers 3 hour workshops in the summer. All the kids expressed an interest this year so I told them they could each take one... But not the same one! So no surprise, our bird lover chose to do the parrot in a rainforest. I think it came out great! David's never done acrylic on canvas so I for one, was super impressed!
We immediately added it to our art wall!
4th of July Symphony and Parade
The Smiths joined us for all the 4th of July activities this year! It is always a party when you get our 8 children together. Look at this good lookin' crew!
The Star Spangled Salute at the Pavilion is always a treat. The kids couldn't wait to hear the cannons fire for the 1812 Overture. And we even found Rebecca in the crowd. :-)
Isaac is looking awfully cute with Abram.
And up again, bright and early for the 4th of July parade. These kids are crazy!
This is one of my favorites: old time cars, siblings, flags... God Bless America!
