Cousin Camp Day 5, Peach Picking, Kings Mtn, and Fish Camp

Friday, July 16th was the last day of Cousin Camp. After breakfast we headed out to pick peaches. The idea is to pick enough to last us through beach week. Here is Emily in front of the road sign.

David really enjoyed helping. He also enjoyed eating the peaches right off the trees. Now that is the life!
And even Little Lia wanted to carry her own basket and pick peaches all by herself. She also wanted to wear sister's headband.

Picking peaches doesn't take long... but it is hard work and the pay-off is ice cream when you're done.
After lunch, we headed to Kings Mountain, where one of the major battle of the Revolutionary War was fought. In fact, it was the battle that turned the tide of the war in favor of the Americans and there is a great little Museum there. Since it was raining cats and dogs, we watched the great documentary and visited the museum. If we had a nicer day, we could have hiked the mountain. We'll have to come back again for that.

We met our family at the local Fish Camp for fried seafood. Little Lia had such a big day that she fell asleep at the table while we were having our hushpuppy appetizers. She finished her meal later that night when we got back home. Here is her Daddy keeping her from falling out of her chair. It was a big day.
